Chasing a hammer is used to chase the metal. A chasing hammer has a smooth and slightly domed shaped head and the other side is ball-shaped. The doomed smooth side is used for striking or denting metal and the ball-shaped side is used for peening or smoothing the dents. The handle is designed in a way that it bounces back slightly on each strike to ease the controls reducing muscle fatigue.
